Jakob begann seine musikalische Ausbildung auf dem Gymnasium Albertinum in Coburg. Dort sang er im Kammer- und Oratorienchor und nahm Klavier- und Orgelunterricht bei Leopold Schindler. Seinen ersten Gesangsunterricht erhielt er bei Nese Pars, Klaus Lapins und Monika Hausvalter. Auch sammelte er sängerische Erfahrungen bei „Jugend musiziert“. Zeitgleich übernahm er 2004 die Leitung des evangelischen Kirchenchors „Cantabile“ in Ebern und leitete diesen bis 2008. Nach dem Besuch der Berufsfachschule für Musik in Kronach unter Gesangsdozentin Helga Kutter, begann er 2011 sein Gesangsstudium bei Martin Hummel an der Hochschule für Musik in Würzburg und schloss dieses 2017 erfolgreich mit dem Master of Music bei Professor Daniela Sindram ab.
Im Rahmen der Opernschule sammelte er bereits in zahlreichen Rollen Erfahrung. Unter anderen in Rossis „Orfeo“, Martinus „Heirat“, Offenbachs „Regimentszauberer,“ Janaceks „Das schlaue Füchslein“ in Rameaus „Hippolyte und Arcie“ und zuletzt „Orpheus in der Unterwelt“ von Offenbach als Jupiter und „La Vera Costanza“ von Haydn als Don Vilotto. Auch außerhalb der Hochschule sang er bereits im Rahmen des Mozartfestes Würzburg, in der Alten Oper Frankfurt und gab sein Debüt als Kuno in Webers Oper „Der Freischütz“ 2018 in der Opernakademie Bad Orb. Außerdem ist er ein gefragter Konzertsänger im süddeutschen Raum und konnte sich ein umfangreiches Konzertrepertoire aneignen.
Im Jahr 2015/16 wurde er durch das Deutschlandstipendium gefördert. Zudem war er Stipendiat des Richard-Wagner-Verbandes für die Festspiele 2016 und wurde bis zum Studienende durch den Richard- Wagner- Verband Würzburg- Unterfranken e.V. (Frau Margot Müller) unterstützt. Seit 2019 ist er festes Mitglied des Opernchores am Mainfrankentheater Würzburg.
The bass-baritone Jakob Mack began his musical education at the Albertinum grammar school in Coburg. After attending the vocational school for music in Kronach under vocal coach Helga Kutter, he began his vocal studies with Martin Hummel at the University of Music in Würzburg in 2011 and successfully completed his Master of Music with Professor Daniela Sindram in 2017.
He has already gained experience in numerous roles as part of the opera school. These include Rossi's “Orfeo”, Martinu's “Heirat”, Offenbach's “Regimentszauberer”, Janacek's “Das schlaue Füchslein” in Rameau's “Hippolyte und Arcie” and, most recently, Offenbach's “Orpheus in der Unterwelt” as Jupiter and Haydn's “La Vera Costanza” as Don Vilotto.He has also sung outside the university as part of the Mozartfest Würzburg and at the Alte Oper Frankfurt and made his debut as Kuno in Weber's opera “Der Freischütz” at the Bad Orb Opera Academy in 2018. He is also a sought-after concert singer in southern Germany and has acquired an extensive concert repertoire.
In 2015/16, he was supported by the Deutschlandstipendium scholarship. He was also a scholarship holder of the Richard Wagner Association for the 2016 Festival and was supported by the Richard Wagner Association Würzburg-Lower Franconia (Ms. Margot Müller) until the end of his studies. He has been a permanent member of the opera choir at the Mainfrankentheater Würzburg since 2019.
