Rückblende: 1970. Die Nachricht von der Trennung der Beatles schockt die Musikszenerie, stürzt rund um den Globus Abermillionen von “Beatlemaniacs“ in tiefste Depression. Vier Jahre später fassen vier junge Musiker in Frankfurt am Main den Entschluss, „nur mal so aus Spaß neben Studium und Beruf“, die Songs der Beatles noch einmal auf die Bühne zu bringen. Sie nehmen die Schallplatten der Fab Four und erarbeiten sich in penibler Kleinarbeit das feingezeichnete Klangbild der Liverpooler Legende.
Anfang 1976: Die „Beat-Boys vom Main“ wagen sich an einem durchschnittlich fröhlichen Faschingsabend im Frankfurter „Sinkkasten“ ins Rampenlicht. Für diesen Anlass hatte man sich den Namen „The Beatles Revival Band“ ausgedacht. Ein erst verdutztes, dann verrückt spielendes Publikum sah sich mit einem Mal in Hamburgs „Starclub“ und um Jahre zurückversetzt: Ein gelbes Unterseeboot schwebte durch den Musikladen, Sergeant Pepper tanzte Rock`n`Roll, Eleanor Rigby servierte kolorierte Drinks und draußen, vor der Tür, klappte der Asphalt der Abbey Road runter. Seite eins im Bilderbuch einer Karriere. Es war wie aus dem Hut gezaubert: Die Beatles Revival Band lebte auf – und: Die Beatles lebten wieder.
Schon Wochen später: Der Auftritt in der restlos ausverkauften Berliner Philharmonie. Die Presse spricht vom „größten Rätsel der bundesdeutschen Rockgeschichte“. Die Musikzeitschrift „Joker“ bezeichnet die Beatles Revival Band als „erfolgreichste Coverband aller Zeiten“. „Beatles-Hits kann die Beatles Revival Band live vermutlich besser spielen als John, Paul, George und Ringo selbst“, lässt die „Bravo“ verlauten. Die Musiker aus dem Hessenland schlüpfen so echt in die Rollen der Originale, dass die Plattenfirma der Beatles die Band wegen „arglistiger Täuschung der Fans“ gerichtlich verbieten lassen will. Ringo Starr bietet der Gruppe 500.000 DM, damit sie ihre Gitarren wieder einpacken.
2023: Nach nunmehr 47 Jahren „on the road“ ist die Beatles Revival Band die
dienstälteste und - gemessen am Durchschnittsalter der Mitglieder - die jüngste Beatles-
Tribute-Band Deutschlands zugleich. Heute präsentiert sich die Formation so frisch und
energetisch wie in den Anfangsjahren. Nach dem Ausscheiden von Richard Kersten und
Robby Matthes ist es gelungen, mit Chris Tucker und Oliver Bick, die Positionen von
John Lennon und Paul McCartney adäquat neu zu besetzen. Die Beatles Revival Band
nimmt ihr Publikum mit auf eine Zeitreise in die Sechziger. Von „Please, Please Me“
über „Sgt. Pepper“ bis hin zu „Let It Be“ gibt es einen Streifzug durch die gesamte
Schaffensperiode des genialen Quartetts aus Liverpool.

Flashback: 1970: The news of the Beatles' break-up shocks the music scene and plunges millions of "Beatlemaniacs" around the world into deepest depression. Four years later, four young musicians in Frankfurt am Main decide to perform the Beatles' songs once again "just for fun alongside their studies and jobs". They took the records of the Fab Four and painstakingly worked out the finely drawn sound of the Liverpool legend.
Early 1976: The "Beat Boys from the Main" venture into the limelight on an averagely cheerful carnival evening in Frankfurt's "Sinkkasten". For this occasion they had come up with the name "The Beatles Revival Band". A first puzzled, then crazed audience suddenly saw themselves in Hamburg's "Starclub" and transported back years: a yellow submarine floated through the music shop, Sergeant Pepper danced rock'n'roll, Eleanor Rigby served coloured drinks and outside, in front of the door, the tarmac of Abbey Road rattled down. Page one in the picture book of a career. It was as if conjured out of a hat: The Beatles Revival Band was alive - and: The Beatles were alive again.
Just weeks later: the performance in the completely sold-out Berlin Philharmonie. The press spoke of the "greatest enigma in West German rock history". The music magazine "Joker" calls the Beatles Revival Band the "most successful cover band of all time". "The Beatles Revival Band can probably play Beatles hits live better than John, Paul, George and Ringo themselves," says "Bravo". The musicians from Hesse slip into the roles of the originals so genuinely that the Beatles' record company wants to have the band banned by the courts for "fraudulent deception of the fans". Ringo Starr offers the group DM 500,000 to repack their guitars.
2023: After 47 years "on the road", the Beatles Revival Band is both the longest-serving and - measured by the average age of its members - the youngest Beatles tribute band in Germany. Today the formation presents itself as fresh and energetic as in the early years. After the departure of Richard Kersten and Robby Matthes, Chris Tucker and Oliver Bick have been appointed to fill the positions of John Lennon and Paul McCartney. The Beatles Revival Band takes their audience on a journey back in time to the sixties. From "Please, Please Me" to "Sgt.
